We just got up, went for a walk, and ate breakfast...Everywhere we look are guinea fowl and their babies-like we see squirrels at home-crazy!
It is a beautiful day..about 70 degrees and slightly cloudy. We are headed to meet our new Namibian friend Petrus!
Question: what does a snail eat when it lives on a tile wall?

Evening Maggie and Michele,
Most land snails eat plants and other vegetation.
Snails also eat algae and decaying matter and are an important part of the food web.
Snails can gnaw through limestone. They eat the little bits of chalk in the rock which they need for their shells.
Wonder if the tiles are limestone or if algae grows on the shower wall?
Ladies!
Don't pass out with your mouth open! You never know where those snails have been!

P.S.
Have a Savanna for me!
Hey Mags and Michele,
So glad you are enjoying your trip. I love reading about it and your slideshow. Keep it up!

M&M,
I am totally jealous!! Not of the snail, but of your being in Africa! When do you head north?
Diane
Wow...who knew so much about snails...I sure hope that you researched that info and did not have it rolling around in your head!
I'm not sure what snails eat, but they are great with garlic and buttersauce!
We always miss you two, but even more knowing that you're in an entirely different country--ah, er, continent -- YIKES, can't get that Palen talk out of my head.
And, even though MO didn't go for President-elect (yeah!) Obama, my feet are getting back to normal after all of the canvassing we did!
Enjoy, be safe and know that you are always in our hearts!
All our our love!
Namaste,
Michele & Papa
